Did you know thatmy right bottom eyelid has been constantly twitching for more than a week now? Some superstitious people believe that it's a sign. A few searches on the net said people believe that a twitch in the left eye means something good is about to happen, while a twitch in the right eye means something bad is about to happen. If this has any truth in it at all, with the amount of twitching my right eye hsa been doing, I should have fallen victim to bad luck like 10 times this week, probably even to the extent of having a near-death experience. But nay, nothing of this sort has happened... so far.

Now on to the scientific point of view.
As stated on eyecaresource.com, eyelid twitching or blepharospasm [try spelling that backwards] is caused by uncontrolled contractions of the muscles around the eyelids. Some common causes of eyetwitching are Stress, Fatigue, Lack of sleep, Prolonged staring at a computer screen or television and Nervous system disorders. [I guess we all know what's causing MY eyelid twitches]. Most people only get mild twitches but an unlucky few might have experienced severe eye twitching that needs medication or even surgery to cure. [OUCH!]

But at least having my eye twitching on its own does have it's perks. I can wink openly at pretty girls even with pipi beside me and I will still have the ultimate excuse of it being just involuntary eye twitches! Haha.
